Sorry, but the museum CANNOT do appraisals. We also DO NOT provide information about your artwork. Go to the website of the International Society of Appraisers to find a qualified appraiser near you. They may also be able to tell you more about the artwork as well.
Yes, we do. We have a large room with a balcony section for events or parties and a kitchen. For more information, email [email protected] or call 325-653-3333.
Yes, we do. The museum owns two galleries on Oakes Street in front of the Art Museum. The Coop Gallery, which is a small exhibit space located at 427 South Oakes Street is available for rent. For more information, click here.
There is also Gallery Verde, which is located at 417 South Oakes Street. It is not for rent, but we do have it open to the public for special art exhibits. For more information on Verde, click here.
No, unfortunately we do not, but we do have a wonderful Education Program that is part of the art museum. There are numerous activities going on throughout the year for kids to participate in, including Family Day, Tours, and Camps. Click here for more information on our Education Programs.
Yes we do. We would love to give you a tour of our exhibits.

We are working to expand the number of collections items represented on our website, with the eventual goal of making SAMFA’s entire collection accessible online. Downloading or saving any image from www.samfa.org implies acceptance of our Terms of Use, which are as follows: Images of artwork in the collection of the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts will be used for research or educational purposes, and will not be reproduced for profit. A proper credit line—naming the artist, the title of the work, and stating “Collection of the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts”—will accompany the use of the image.
We gladly accept donations, which are tax-deductible. However, we cannot guarantee acceptance of the objects into the Permanent Collection, and we cannot guarantee permanent display or exhibition of any item. Gifts to the museum must be unencumbered, which means that they must be given on the understanding that the items will then belong to the museum to use as we see fit, to further our collections and programs. Each item, however, would be carefully considered for formal acquisition, and those pieces not selected would be thoughtfully used to further the museum's mission and goals (whether through selling them to raise funds or loaning them for display to local libraries, schools, or civic organizations).
In certain circumstances during inclement weather, we will be closed. We follow San Angelo Independent School districts procedures in such a case. If SAISD is closing for the day or delaying until later that morning, we will be doing the same.
